Another great day at the office!

Delacroix report

Lately the fishing has been off the charts depending on the weather.
Most trips have been limits or near limits with no problem.
The water temps have been slowly decreasing bringing more fish towards the marsh as evident by yesterdays trip with Mark and Elroy who came down to fish for a couple of hours.
The winds were stiff when they showed up so we started off in the marsh looking for some reds and BINGO, first stop put almost their whole limit in the box with some pretty trout along with them.
The trout were all from 14″ to 18″ and the reds were all in the slot range and perfect grillers.
Inoticed the winds laying down a little and although we were still catching where we were we made a decision to try an area closer to the outer bays and man what a great choice.
Once we settled in near a point it didn’t take but a minute before Mark and Elroy were both hooked up with trout up t o19″ and steady hitting the live shrimp under the cork.
It got so fast Mark had a tangle in his line that was messing his casting up so I told him to cast out the tangle before loading up another shrimp and with a bare hook he cast out and Yep you guessed it the cork went down and a fish came up!
We filled the box with some pretty trout as I joined in with a DOA and was keeping up with the live bait till we were done.
Mark and Elroy did a great Job slinging the fish over the gunnel and kept the rods bent.
I had a great time with the guys and look forward to the next one.

So far we have been dodging the canes and hopefully it will continue thru the season.
Look for the trout to continue pushing deeper in to the marsh as they follow the white shrimp in with the rising tides.

Till next time …Take a trip and rip some lips!!!
